Books That Shine A Light On All Aspects Of Life

On September 22, 2008, I reached the age of 50 years old. Less than one month later the United States, as I knew it, ceased to exist. An economic collapse caused by unbridled Wall-Street greed transformed pockets of the nation into concrete wastelands and tent cities that I refer to as TARP Town U S A.

BACK COVER                                                                 FRONT COVER

The United States experienced the emergence of an economic crisis in the last quarter of 2008 that was the worst since the Great Depression. It quickly became evident that the cause of this financial meltdown was a perfect storm of multiple factors including irresponsibility, greed and lax oversight. Some hardworking citizens found themselves living in foreclosure riddled neighborhoods and tent cities that the author has labeled – TARP Towns - after the Troubled Assets Relief Program approved by Congress in October of 2008.

ESSENCE® bestselling author D T Pollard expresses a unique view on the economic crisis that exploded onto the scene in 2008 and describes how that financial downturn may save the United States of America from itself.

5.0 out of 5 stars          A novel with twists, turns and truimph, February 5, 2009

I took up the audiobook version of this book. I really enjoyed the storyline of using Katrina and how Monique took her tragedy and turned it around to be blessed with all of these opportunities of fortune to come to her. Even in the midst of adversities of death, a horrific crime against her and marital problems Monique pressed her way thru it all. I also like the full circle of Monique helping out another woman in the midst of a hurricane after she has become blessed in her own life! I see the author has another book that also looks interesting to check out. If you want a story with drama, twists and turns and triumph set in a contemporary setting with the backdrop of a current event and what happens afterwards to someone's life related to it this book is the one to hit!!

…FOOL'S HEAVEN is a true and gritty depiction of the reality of life behind the pulpit. Pollard does an excellent job developing Mike and Janice's characters. They are likeable, yet real individuals trying to live and love right. ...A great read.

Determined to Survive..., July 10, 2007

…ROOFTOP DIVA is an emotional page-turner from the beginning to the end. It gives a realistic and emotional account of Hurricane Katrina and the effects it had on its victims. With excellent character development, one would feel as though they were a part of the story--experiencing the joys and pain. Full of unexpected twists and turns, D. T. Pollard does an excellent job of helping the reader understand some of the issues many of the survivors had to overcome following Hurricane Katrina…He took a chance on revisiting a horrific event, but has turned it into a wonderful story of tragedy, faith, love, strength and determination. Kudos to Mr. Pollard on a job well done.
